ATTENDANCE:

• Must register to attend the full conference
• Be present in front of their posters on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 3– 5:15 pm during the Poster Session & Social
• Be present Saturday, May 3, 2025, during the Best Poster Awards & Closing Remarks from 4:15– 4:30 p.m. 

AUTHORS AND FEES: First author or a co-author MUST register, MUST attend the symposium, and MUST be present in front of their poster during these viewing periods to answer questions from attendees.  There is no waiver of registration fees for presentation of a poster.

You may submit a poster previously shown elsewhere.  No more than 1 submission will be accepted per primary poster presenter; you are allowed unlimited submissions as a secondary author.

POSTER ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS

SUBMISSION: All poster abstracts must be submitted online. Designated Scientific Committee members will review abstracts submitted. Those who submit are expected to ensure all information is correct at the time of submission, contact co-presenters to ensure the accuracy of this information before finalizing your submission. Poster Abstracts are intended to represent scientific research, program development, and/or non-commercial content related to clinical practice; advertisements are not acceptable.

ASSESSMENT CATEGORIES FOR SUBMISSIONS

• Relevance to cancer rehabilitation
• Adds to existing knowledge, is an innovation/cutting edge topic
• Contributes to the major content areas of the conference
• Multidisciplinary approaches

ACCEPTED FORMAT CATEGORIES FOR SUBMISSIONS

• Original cancer rehabilitation research report
• Cancer rehabilitation research report presented at other conferences
• Completed cancer rehabilitation case study report
• Only completed research and case studies will be considered. Research work that is in progress must have preliminary data and preliminary analysis.

SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE: The Symposium’s Scientific Committee will review your submissions. Each submission is considered based on its own merit, not in comparison to other submissions.

SELECTION PROCESS: Proposals will be reviewed online by the symposium’s Committee as designated by the symposium Co-chairs. Only reviewers who have demonstrated competency in research will review research-related proposals.

SUBMISSIONS SHOULD INCLUDE:

	Section

2.	Authors
3.	Purpose (What): Identify the overall goal/intent of the initiative, project or research.
4.	Relevance/Significance (Why): Describe the initiative/project/research’s relevance and importance in the context of Cancer Rehabilitation. Research projects should include the aim and hypotheses.
5.	Strategy/Implementation/Methods (How): Describe the action plan and its implementation. Research projects should include design, sample, instruments, data collection procedures, and analytic approaches used.
6.	Evaluation/Outcomes/Results (So what): Describe findings and include actual evaluation data demonstrating the value of the research, case study, or initiative (success or failure). Note: For research projects, this section must include quantitative or qualitative data and must link to concrete results (stronger abstracts show how the results impact practice or patient outcomes).
7.	Conclusions/Implications for Practice (And now): Discuss the meaning of the findings and their implications for nursing practice.
8.	References: Provide three (3) peer-reviewed scientific references using the American Psychological Association (APA) format.

POSTER PREPARATION

1. POSTERS
   1. Poster should be printed with the recommended, approximate poster size:
      1. Due to space limitations, please print in portrait orientation: 70 cm (width) x 90 cm (height)
      2. Posters in Landscape orientation may not have room to be posted
      3. Authors are free to create their own poster design. There are no particular style requirements.
   2. Educational materials that are a part of this activity cannot contain any advertising, trade names, or product-group messages.
2. REQUIRED ELEMENTS
   1. Include the title, name(s) and institutional affiliation(s) of the author(s), and the name and location of the institution or facility at which the work was performed (font should be at least 1 inch high)
   2. Provide information on all topics included in the abstract
   3. NO advertisement of service or product may be advertised.
   4. Any perceived, or real, conflicts of interests should be clearly disclosed.
3. READABILITY
   1. Print size should allow the poster to be read from a distance of six (6) feet.
   2. Select fonts like these: Arial, Helvetica, Trebuchet MS, Univers
   3. Don’t use fonts like these: ALGERIAN, Blackadder ITC, Magneto , Tempus Sans ITC
   4. Use charts, graphs, diagrams, or photographs
   5. Minimize words
   6. Keep it organized and match the presentation to the flow of the poster.
   7. Place your most significant findings at eye level
   8. Print size should allow the poster to be read from a distance of six (6) feet
   9. Suggest using color and keeping it visually stimulating, black and white acceptable
   10. Avoid reflective, plastic-coated paper

AT THE SYMPOSIUM

1. POSTER SET UP / BREAK DOWN
   1. Please set your poster up:  Thursday, May 1, 2025, by 4pm
   2. Be present in front of their posters on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 3-5:15 pm during the Poster Session & Social
   3. Be present Saturday, May 3, 2025, during the Best Poster Awards & Closing Remarks from 4:15–4:30 p.m. 
   4. Please take down your poster after : Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 4:30 pm after the Poster Awards
2. FORMAL PRESENTATION TIMES
   1. Please plan to stand by your posters for discussion / Q&A: Friday, May 2, 2025, from 3–5 pm
3. POSTER SET UP
   1. Poster presenters are responsible for printing and bringing their posters based on the guidelines provided above.
   2. We will provide push-pins and bulletin boards for displaying posters.
   3. Electrical outlets and audiovisual equipment are not available in the poster area.
   4. Your poster was selected on the basis of the abstract you submitted. Your poster should be an expansion of, not a departure from, the content of the abstract.
