Clayton Berrang, MS
Clayton Berrang, from Athens, Georgia, attended Valdosta State University where he earned a BA in exercise physiology. While at VSU he worked as a performance coach at Edge Performance. Clayton attended the University of Miami where he earned his master’s degree in Exercise Physiology; Strength and Conditioning. While at the University of Miami Clayton was a graduate assistant in the strength and conditioning department working with many sports including soccer, rowing, swim, and dive. After earning his master’s degree Clayton served as a Performance Coach at ATH Katy for a year before accepting a position as Director of Olympic Athletic Performance at Houston Baptist University.
Mark Pryer, MS
Mark Pryer, originally from Lubbock, Texas joined Athlete Training and Health in the Fall of 2020 as the Applied Performance Coach, where he will be pursuing his PhD, studying sprinting and sports science. In August of 2021, Mark moved into the Senior Applied Performance coach role where he is focusing on projects that will impact company wide – such as programming all youth athlete speed training; working on research and education initiatives; and managing ATH’s various training technology platforms. Mark attended Texas Tech University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science and masters in strength and conditioning. While finishing his undergraduate degree he worked with the Olympic sports strength and conditioning staff under Tory Stephens. During graduate school, Mark worked with the men’s basketball staff as a graduate assistant for three years. After graduation, Mark moved to DFW and worked at a velocity sports performance location, followed by a transition to Michael Johnson Performance where he worked with youth, pro and elite level athletes. Highlights of his time at MJP include five NFL Combine classes, three gold medalist sprinters, one silver medal sprinter, multiple NFL 1st and 2nd round draft picks, pro bull riders from the PBR circuit, and multiple professional baseball players. Mark currently lives in Allen, TX with his wife Tarin, and two dogs Molly and Zoe.
Blaine Schmidt
Blaine is from Gettysburg, South Dakota. He graduated with honors from Northern State University with a degree in Human Performance and Fitness and minor in Coaching. While there, he spent some time working as an intern with the athletic training staff and developed a Summer Strength and Conditioning program for athletes in grades 7-12 at three high schools located in South Dakota. Blaine is primarily involved with the return to play program, working with clients that are both post-op as well as non-operative. In addition to the RTP program, Blaine also provides general strength and conditioning services to active clients of all ages, tactical programming and various sports performance groups. Blaine is actively coaching and implementing injury risk management and performance programs for local athletes, coaches and medical support staff.
Courtney Bohne, PT, DPT, SCS, OCS, FAAOMPT
Courtney Bohne is a dual graduate of the University of Florida. Courtney graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology in 2010 and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2013. She then completed a sports physical therapy residency at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital followed by a sports and orthopaedic manual therapy fellowship through Institute for Athlete Regeneration. She is board certified in both sports and orthopaedic physical therapy and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. Courtney works at Memorial Hermann Rockets Sports Medicine Institute in Katy, Texas and is a site coordinator for the sports physical therapy residency program. Courtney is passionate about serving the athletic population and has a special interest in preventative care education for sports injuries. Courtney has been published for her research on knowledge of injury prevention strategies within Little League baseball. In order to enhance and promote optimal movement mechanics for high school athletes, Courtney has initiated and conducted injury prevention movement screens for several Houston-area high school teams. Courtney has presented on various sports medicine topics at the local, state, and national level. Courtney is currently an active member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Sports Medicine Committee and is Membership Lead for the Knee SIG of the AASPT.
