CBIS Certification & Exam (separate & optional)

The Brain Injury Association of America offers a national certification program through its Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists (ACBIS). This two-day training is the official course designed to prepare participants to sit for the Certification Exam and join more than 7,000 Certified Brain Injury Specialists worldwide.The CBIS credential exam is open to any profession or discipline serving people with brain injury. This course will review materials which may be covered on the exam.
The CBIS Exam is a 70 question, multiple choice exam, on which you must get 80% correct in order to earn your CBIS Certification. To pass the CBIS Exam you will need to study and prepare well in advance. The CBIS Review Course will be instructed by ACBIS Certified Brain Injury Specialist Trainers (CBISTs).Eligibility requirements for taking the CBIS Exam can be found at http://www.biausa.org/acbis/cbis.
To obtain certification, candidates must:
- Complete the required work experience/training as outlined by BIAUSA/ACBIS.
- Separate fee to BIAUSA/ACBIS is required. CBIS Information Eligibility
- Pass an in person, proctored, examination.
- The proctored certification exam is offered on a separate day and time as noted below for this course. It is only available to those that register and attend this CBIS Course and choose to sit for the exam with our identified proctors. (Additional exam fee applies)
- Candidates must then sign up for pre-scheduled test dates listed below and pass the ACBIS examination with a score of >80% to obtain CBIS Certification.
- ACBIS REGISTRATION NUMBER is required when registering for this course if you plan on taking the exam with our identified proctors.
- Others may coordinate with ACBIS to set up your own testing and proctor on your own in accordance with ACBIS.

All current COVID restrictions will apply to any visitors at a MHHS Campus.On the Prep course registration page, you will select your preferred testing date.
