Kate Hughes, PT, DPT, MS, OCS, SCS, AEMT, earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A & M University, her Master of Science degree from TWU – Houston, and her Doctorate from Simmons College. She is board certified in orthopaedic and sports physical therapy and has worked in outpatient settings for the past 23 years. Although Dr. Hughes works with a variety of clients. She has a particular interest in treating foot and ankle injuries and in sports-related concussion rehabilitation. Dr. Hughes has been certified as an AEMT for the past 27 years. During that time period, she has worked for 911 response Emergency Medical Services as well as volunteering medical support for a multitude of events. Her knowledge base as an AEMT is utilized in the treatment of emergent patients in both the physical therapy clinic and the community.
Dexter Upton, PT, DPT, SCS, is a dual certified (OCS/SCS) and fellowship-trained physical therapist. He has served as both sports residency director and D1 sports fellowship coordinator for Memorial Hermann and currently acts as the Director of the Ironman Sports Medicine Institute – Memorial City. Dr. Upton also serves in the specialization SIG of the AASPT and has spoken at the local, state, and national levels. Dexter’s PT interests focus on post-professional education and integrating return to sport for patients suffering from low back pain.
Lequita Williams-Golden, PT, DPT, SCS, MEd, and MBA, earned her Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia University, her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Temple University, and Masters in Educational Psychology from University of Houston and Executive Masters in Business Administration from Texas Southern University. She is a board-certified sports physical therapist. She has worked in outpatient settings for the past 14 years with experience in Pediatrics, Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Dr. Golden takes a special interest in treating various hip conditions, pediatric patients, dancers and gymnasts.
Justin Howard, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS, FDN-2, received a degree in kinesiology from Texas A&M University and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Texas Woman’s University-Houston. He is residency graduate of Memorial Hermann’s Rockets Sports Medicine Orthopedic Residency program and a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical therapy for 9 years and Sports Physical Therapy for 8 years. Dr. Howard’s areas of interest and specialization include sports injuries, spine, and knee/shoulder injuries. He works with special populations in the Memorial Hermann Baseball Medicine program and Memorial Hermann Hip Preservation program. He has advanced certification/training in Manual Therapy, Dry Needling and Emergency Response. Dr. Howard is involved in mentoring in the Rockets Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy Residency Program, clinical education of DPT students and is clinic manager for Pearland East SM&R. Justin is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Justin enjoys golfing, hiking, bike riding and recreational sports of all kinds.
Marianne Landon MAT, LAT, ATC, received her undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University and completed a Master of Athletic Training at University of Houston. Marianne previously worked as both an assistant and head athletic trainer at a 6A high school in Houston. Her area of interest is sport-related injuries and return to play rehabilitation in high school athletes. She has certification in Graston Technique/Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM). Marianne is an Outreach Athletic Trainer for Memorial Hermann and is currently assigned to one high school and two junior highs in the Katy area. Marianne is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), Southwest Athletic Trainers’ Association (SWATA), Texas State Athletic Trainers’ Association (TSATA) and Greater Houston Athletic Trainers’ Society (GHATS).
