Memorial Hermann Foundation Scholarship to Advance Nursing Education

In our continued commitment to grow, excel and re-imagine nursing at Memorial Hermann, the Memorial Hermann Institute for Nursing Excellence and the Memorial Hermann Foundation are pleased to share another exciting development opportunity for employees across the System: The 2026 - 2027 Memorial Hermann Foundation Scholarship to Advance Nursing Education – RN to BSN and Entry to Nursing.
 
 
Entry into Nursing Program
Eligibility Requirements:
• Actively working in an entry level position at Memorial Hermann Health System for a minimum of 1 year at time of application.
• Full-time employment status.
• Received a ‘meets expectations’ or higher on the most recent performance evaluation.
• No verbal or written disciplinary actions within the past 12 months.
• Completed any required pre-requisites for an ADN or BSN program.
• Willing and able to start ADN or BSN program on/before Fall semester 2026.
 
Application Process:
Submit the application and required documents found here by March 15, 2026.
 
•Required documents include: proof of pre-requisite completion for an accredited ADN or BSN program, letter of recommendation from direct supervisor (nurse manager, nurse director, or CNO), and a 250-word essay about how the scholarship will support your nursing career at Memorial Hermann.
•The first round of applications and supporting documents are due by March 15, 2026. Scholarship recipients will be notified in May 2026. 
 
Details:
•This educational scholarship is intended to help Memorial Hermann employees who have experienced challenges in pursuing their ADN or BSN because of the necessity to earn full-time payment to support themselves and/or their families. The scholarship will be considered a taxable fringe benefit.
 
 
LVN to RN Program
Eligibility Requirements:
• Actively working in an LVN position at Memorial Hermann Health System for a minimum of 1 year at time of application.
• Full-time employment status.
• Received a ‘meets expectations’ or higher on the most recent performance evaluation.
• No verbal or written disciplinary actions within the past 12 months.
• Completed any required pre-requisites for an ADN or BSN program.
• Willing and able to start ADN or BSN program on/before Fall semester 2026.
