Course Description:Rehab Solutions 2021 is an advanced practice interdisciplinary rehabilitation conference featuring nationally recognized experts in the field of rehabilitation. The one-day program will give you up to date information about the changing landscape in healthcare and how rehabilitation specialists can impact care delivery.
Topics covered include population health, value based delivery of care, cancer survivorship, the role of case management and social work in the current health care climate, influencing the future of healthcare through advocacy, current concepts in concussion and the role of rehabilitation nursing in the changing healthcare landscape. A special panel on workman’s compensation and government funding sources such as Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services (CRS) and Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) will also be a part of the program.
Topics & Learning Objectives:
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1. Describe population health and implement strategies to enhance population health across rehabilitation settings.
2. Discuss value based delivery of care and apply principles to patient care settings.
3. Define cancer survivorship; explain the role of nurse navigation in cancer survivorship and how rehabilitation specialists would utilize this resource to enhance cancer care for survivors
4. Integrate current concepts in concussion to patient care and implement an effective plan of care for improved comprehensive concussion care delivery.
5. Explain the role of rehabilitation case managers and social workers in the changing healthcare climate and how it relates to an interdisciplinary team to impact favorable outcomes.
6. Understand the different government funding sources and workman’s compensation payment source to enhance care delivery and planning for patients with catastrophic injuries.
7. Discuss Ethics as related to quality of life after disability and its impact on medical decision-making.
8. Describe the experience of a rehabilitation patient within the current healthcare climate and define the role of a rehabilitation specialist as a patient advocate.
