Course Description: The 2023 Red Duke Trauma Symposium will address advances in trauma, emergency medicine and critical care. This two-day course is designed for pre-hospital care providers, nurses, advanced practitioners and physicians. Leading specialists in acute care general surgery, emergency medicine, orthopedic traumatology and neuro trauma will highlight advances in the treatment of adult and pediatric patients with an array of traumatic injuries and the development of appropriate strategies for incorporating evidence-based protocols into clinical management. In addition to didactic lectures and case studies, participants will get hands-on training with multidisciplinary skills stations.
 
Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course participants will be able to:
  1. Analyze the signs of shock in adults and pediatrics.
  2. Identify the key components necessary to control hemorrhage.
  3. Discuss and apply the 2022 Standards outlined in the Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient.
