Polytrauma and Open Fractures:
1. Describe the current standards for initial assessment of mangled limbs.
2. List the techniques for treating open fractures.
3. Understand soft tissue management techniques involved with limb salvage.
4. Understand the decision-making process of proceeding with a traumatic amputation.
5. Describe the rationale behind the treatment of lower extremity long bone fractures.
Polytrauma and Pelvic Fractures:
1. Describe the emergency management of pelvic fractures.
2. Understand goals of surgery for pelvic fractures.
3. List the rationale behind current physical therapy and rehabilitation techniques
4. Understand basic soft tissue and wound management techniques for open fractures.
5. Understand the team effort in management of trauma patients.
