Course Overview:
Rotator cuff tendinopathies account for the majority of musculoskeletal shoulder complaints. This course will cover current best evidence for the evaluation and management of rotator cuff tendinopathies, to include rotator cuff tears. The format will be lectures, labs, and interactive case studies. An evidence-based approach will be used to select, discuss and practice the patient evaluation and physical examination, differential diagnosis, intervention procedures, overall treatment approach, and assessing outcomes of care.
Value-based healthcare requires the appraisal of health outcomes and the costs of delivering these outcomes. Patient-rated outcomes (PRO) can be used to evaluate health and assess the value of delivered healthcare, and provide critical data to assess value of provided care, evaluate adherence to evidence-based guidelines, and improve the delivery of care. Daily use of PROs can assist in delivering the right treatment, to the right patient, at the right time. This ½ day will provide the basis to select, score, and interpret PROs for musculoskeletal disorders, and strategies for practical implementation by clinicians and clinics to improve patient value-based healthcare outcomes.
