Course Description:
This presentation equips outpatient rehabilitation clinicians with practical tools to recognize, understand, and respond to common behavioral health presentations encountered in clinical practice. Participants will explore how mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, and behavioral dysregulation impact patient engagement, adherence, and functional outcomes. The session emphasizes real-world application, including communication strategies, de-escalation techniques, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Clinicians will leave with increased confidence in navigating complex patient interactions while maintaining therapeutic rapport, safety, and scope of practice.

Sepideh Nash, LMFT, is the Behavioral Health Educator at Memorial Hermann Health System, where she leads system-wide initiatives to advance behavioral health integration across clinical settings. Her work focuses on equipping interdisciplinary teams with the skills and confidence to effectively manage behavioral health needs, with an emphasis on psychological safety, trauma-informed care, and clinical workforce development.
